THIS SHOW HAS MOVED TO CAIN’S BALLROOM. FREE, ALL-AGES WELCOME. Betsayda Machado was raised in a small village El Clavo in the region of Barlovento, in coastal Venezuela. Her recent rural recordings with lifelong friends in the ensemble Parranda El Clavo brought new attention to the infectiously percussive and danceable Venezuelan Afro-soul music and dance known as “tambor.”  The New York Times calls Betsayda and Parranda “vital, accomplished, unplugged, deeply rooted.”
