DELFEAYO MARSALIS

In June 2023, NEA Jazz Master DELFEAYO MARSALIS and his quintet played a smoking, sold-out set at LowDown in Tulsa, kicking off 3 consecutive nights of top-shelf performances at the 5th annual Wine & Jazz FETE. As a key member of New Orleans’ first family of jazz, the trombonist is perhaps the most traditional player in the family. Earlier in the week Public Radio Tulsa’s Rich Fisher caught up with Marsalis for a refreshingly open chat about jazz, how he likes to play, and finding his niche in the family.
